Publishing the source code
Hello everyone
For a small donation you can get access to the commented Lua source code of the game, including future updates in newer releases.
I will be giving periodic updates and possibly open a tech discussion board to explain some of the architecture and design choices in the future. The README in the source files contains instructions on how to setup, compile and execute the code. The downloadable also contains a makefile and VSCode configurations, since I’m primarily developing on Linux with VSCode. If you use other platforms SquidGod has excellent tutorials on setting up and developing with the SDK.
You’ll need to most recent version of the Playdate SKD to compile the game and run it on the simulator, as well as a clone of the pdlibs library (checkout to tag “Eclipse_v0.2.1”).
If you have any issues compiling or questions regarding the project, feel free to text me through any of my channels, including the Playdate Developer Forum.
Happy developing!
